CASA VÈRTA is conceived as a collective home at a human scale, rooted in the spirit of neighborhood life.
Its ambition is to reinterpret contemporary collective living through an open and flexible system that welcomes the creation of a new community hub for the Bassanello district and for the city of Padua as a whole.
The project reclaims a formerly residual urban void, transforming it through the dual presence of a tower and a courtyard. These two architectural figures go beyond the traditional notion of an enclosed urban block, projecting their influence outward and engaging with the wider context.
The tower rises as a new urban landmark, a vertical sign that frames views across the neighborhood and establishes a dialogue with the city at large, while the courtyard grounds the project in the everyday, inviting permeability and interaction through pathways, green spaces, and shared areas of encounter.
Together, tower and courtyard create a framework for new forms of proximity and reciprocity, where architecture mediates between past traces and future aspirations. In doing so, CASA VÈRTA does not simply provide housing, but contributes to the rediscovery of Bassanello’s neighborhood identity, reactivating its sense of belonging and collective vitality.
